Well I'm obviously not as prolific a blogger as Alexis, yet she would be hard to match. I can't wait to meet Sam but in the meantime I love reading the posts that keep us all informed. Nonetheless, I have a few minutes so I thought I would post an update on our goings on so here goes...
Master bathroom remodel. Old tiles started falling into the wall in our shower. Not good. Lots of water damage and mold. Took the entire bathroom down to studs and joists. Forgot to take "before" pictures. No floor, lots of dust. House is a wreck. Moved a couple walls. Everything is closed in now. Planned on doing the tile myself to save money. Bad idea, way too much action for a first tile job. Lots and lots happens before tile even goes up in a shower. Whole new vocabulary: deflection, modified or unmodified thinset, liquid membrane, pre-slope, mortar bed, whaaa? I quickly came to my senses and hired a tile guy who had me praying thanks I did not try this myself. Hopefully a few more weeks and were done. Hopefully. Lots to do this week getting prepped before he starts tiling.
The restaurant is busy. God bless Lent. Come and get your fish. 600 people a day on the weekends. Makes us extra tired working on the bathroom in the morning before going to work. We count our blessings though. Most restaurants are having a very hard time. We're very, very blessed.
I got a treadmill to run on hoping it will help me quit smoking. I was running in the mornings but then I got really sore and then the bathroom project started. I'm not giving up though. I used to run 7 miles a day so I will try to get back to that. The more I run the less I smoke. I know, I know, just quit sticking the damn things in my mouth, that's how you quit. There is just nothing rational about it though. It's all mental at this point.
My next project this spring is to try to recreate some of the amazing flower beds and baskets we saw in Canada. I think they will mostly be in the backyard for us to enjoy. Hopefully you all will get to visit this spring or summer and enjoy them too. Eddie has found the joy in feeding the birds and the squirrels. We have added more feeders and are looking for a unique bird bath. It's very peaceful to sit outside and watch them on a sunny day.
Well I guess that's it. I look forward to seeing you all next month and especially meeting Samantha. It's time to get back to work.

I'm glad you haven't abandoned the blog completely. At least your not as bad as your sister, whose last post was seven months ago.
If you want to quit smoking you should get pregnant. The smell of cigarette smoke while your pregnant is unbearable! It's an aggressive approach to quitting, but it works.
