MyFace

While commenting on my new facebook adventure, Eddie, obviously confused with myspace, referred to it as "myface." I found it hilarious so that's his new term for it. Frankly I'm pretty confident if it wasn't for the Pirate's Cove fb page and his daily inquiry of how many fans we now have, then he probably would make more of a fuss about my own facebook participation. I think he thinks it's too weird, full of boogeymen and definitely too time consuming. (In his defense, he can play an entire game of solitaire in 50 seconds). Now that I have been on it for a few days I do think there is some odd stuff going on out there. I don't really understand the point of some of it. What's with these games and flowers and questions about you and hugs? Do I have to respond or risk seeming rude? I ignored a friend request the other day from a stranger who apparently is a folk singer of sorts and jeezy peezy, what guilt! Had I maybe met her before and seemed so friendly and interested she thought I might actually care how she spent her days and who she friended and whose posts she commented on? Really? In the end I decided I'm just not that nice nor guilt ridden. She got a great big IGNORE (but only after I was assured by a helpful employee that she wouldn't get some embarrassing rejection post from me for all her friends to see). I guess it takes getting used to. In the mean time I look forward to keeping up with all of you REAL friends and family on myface. See you there.
