I would not even consider that a question worth answering. If you're asking
that, you need to also ask how does thinking with your dick, never asking for
directions, an over inflated ego, the ability to always be right, and having no
capacity for empathy impact the powers of the presidency? for the answer to
that, just look at American history.
Great points. So why hasn't any female columnist approached the topic?
I was asking the question because I think that in the Washington boys club, at least behind closed doors, they certainly joke about it. I think the spirited and thoughtful answers I received show that if women were willing to "get in front of it," by bringing the subject to light they could show, as both Mom and Stefanie did, that it is a ridiculous premise. Furthermore, it would open the dialogue on research that shows females actually make better leaders because of certain "female" characteristics.
Whether we recognize it or not, the facts in this election show that there are a sizable number of men out there who simply won't vote for a woman presidential candidate solely because she is a woman. Yet our media is afraid to even approach the topic. One article went so far to explain that the word "hysterical," is considered entirely out of bounds because of its historical implication.
Nonetheless, perhaps I opened a can of worms that should have been left alone.
