Happy Labor Day!
My replies to the comments were so long I decided to make a new post instead. Thanks for all the ideas. Alexis- Actually Gus' Mariner used to do tortilla encrusted fish that Joy liked so I will try that. Softshells have a very short season after the first full moon in May but yes we always run them as specials when they are. Aunt Chrise- fish tacos are in the works but my cooks have varying ideas (most include the cabbage) but let me know what you have had and liked. I've heard pico de gallo, sauces, grilled fish, fried fish, plain cabbage, dressed cabbage...please e-mail me or comment your ideas. As far as a website, we had one when we first opened but the guy who did it wasn't keeping it current so I took it down. BUT, last Tuesday I had a meeting with a website company who does them for a 2000.00 set up and 50.00 month maintenance. I want to compare his offer to at least one other company since I heard from another restaurateur that his price was high. I have no idea except that we need one. Actually, I will need to talk to Joel about food pictures for a website. Nouna- you're so savvy. Yes, you're right, I have been reading about restaurants using twitter and facebook for a while now. Frankly, I'm so clueless about it that I am really intimidated. I know the web guy I met with said I can use twitter and facebook, rss feed (I don't even know what this is) through the website package he offered so that is good news. I could definitely use your help understanding it all. Also, if you know of any good companies/people who do websites, please let me know. The day after my meeting with the web guy our 3000.00 boost pump (for water pressure) motor died after just two years. It is a commercial pump and as luck would have it the warranty expired two months ago. Ugh. Anyway, I postponed my next meeting with the web man until I knew if we had to buy a new pump. As of now, it appears we will only need to spend about 1000. instead of 3 so that's good, so we will see this week. Maybe in my next post I can list some of the specials we ran the past two weeks. Lunchtime we're running specialty sandwiches and entree salads. Dinner we are doing apps and entrees. Mom has given me a few ideas and Yia-Yia's "plaki" with the tomatoes, fresh herbs, onion, etc. sold very well over flounder. Bottom line, ALL ideas and suggestions are always welcome! My brain is getting a little fried trying to come up with five to seven new items everyday...Thanks again for all the help on all of it.

Your Nouna always talks that way, and half the time I don't follow either! I am so computer UNsavy!!
I could do your website for you, but I'm a little far away . . . still in this world of computers,I'm NOT that far! Talk to your Nouna, I'm sure you can do better than $2,000 start-up fee. There's got to be some college kid out there, much cheaper! (I can kjust see my sister yelling at that suggestion!
Talk to me. dont' go w/ a web company until you do. My agency does web, and the guy I work with is good and can program on the side, I can update or we can even program in a way you can easliy update.
call me about web before you do anything. I can design a site for you and save on the dollars too.
